

Anna Lee Chalos-McAleese is a glass artist and sculptor whose work reflects decades of dedication to material exploration and education. She holds an MFA in Sculpture (1978) and a B.S. in Sculpture and Education (1974), both from Indiana State University, and has continued to refine her craft through post-graduate studies in sculpture from 2022–2024. Her glasswork education includes studies at the Corning Glass Studio (2006, 2009, 2022) and early formative training in glassblowing at the Indianapolis Art Center (2004–2005). Chalos-McAleese is co-founder of Seesaw Studios Inc., where she has collaborated with artist and husband Andrew McAleese since 2013. Prior to that, she taught art across all grade levels, including at the Indiana State University Lab School and the Vigo County School Corporation, where she served for over two decades. A respected speaker, she has lectured on topics such as Constructivism and 20th-century sculpture, including presentations at the Swope Art Museum and Halcyon Gallery. She is an active member of the Hoosier Salon, Newfield’s Museum of Art, and the Art Institute of Chicago, and she has served on the Collections Committee at the Swope Art Museum since 2010. Her work is represented by the Indiana Artisans program (Carmel and French Lick Galleries) and By Hand Gallery in Bloomington, Indiana. Recent exhibitions include the Hoosier Salon at the Indiana State Museum (2023, 2024), Gallery 317 in Ohio (2024), and an upcoming solo show titled Zips at Hager White Gallery in spring 2025.
