Elizabeth Mattos

My mission and passion as an artist is to make the world a more beautiful place through watercolor artwork, while endeavoring to honor God with each piece I paint. Working exclusively with the medium of watercolor, I find fulfillment in portraying themes of light, peace, tranquility, simplicity and joy. A wide variety of subject matter can be seen being created in my studio, including landscapes, waterscapes, botanical, whimsical, cityscapes and portraits, with God’s beautiful creation, Scripture or personal experience being my underlying inspirations. As an artist, details matter, and I believe the creative process used to create my artwork should be guided by both artistic inspiration and technique in tandem with a high standard of quality. Just as I hold myself to a high standard for the artwork I create, so do I also hold the tools and materials used to create the artwork. That is why you will find me using all acid-free materials, finely crafted all-wood frames, 100% pure cotton watercolor paper, top-of-the-line watercolor paint, and even distilled water for the painting process itself.
