Cody Moser is an artist from the corner of Northwest Ohio working as a practicing ceramicist and high school art teacher. His design process involves using the iPad program Procreate to illustrate and hand-draw stencils that are then cut from the Cricut machine, as well as using multiple underglaze colors layered on top of one another. This process creates a visually unique way to create depth on the surface of functional pottery while sticking to its roots focusing in painting through the use of imagery. Themes in his work are developed through experiences, memories, and nature. Drawing from these ideas allows for dynamic compositions and patterns while creating interesting visuals for the viewer to add a bit of excitement to an everyday functional piece.
